Photographer Says He Lost His Job After Leaking Pictures Of Rick Perry And Coal CEO

Whistleblower protections only protect Government employees while disclosing violations of law or (now regulations as well) there is nothing illegal about meeting with a business CEO, as such the employee violated their terms of employment by leaking information. Leaking information is not under the umbrella of the whistleblower protection act. Regardless of your personal opinions the law is what should guide a government employee, in this particular case the DOE made the right call.
