Weaving It Together 1 - Chapter 12 - A Sharp Idea from King Gillette
Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that January 5 is the anniversary of the birth of American businessman King Camp Gillette who invented a best selling version of the disposable safety razor.
Rest in peace King Camp Gillette!

Maj Marty Hogan, long after King Gillette departed the scene, The Gillette Company became responsible for one of the most successful ad campaigns, slogans and mascots in advertising history. “Look Sharp, Feel Sharp, Be Sharp” is the slogan and Sharpie is the mascot. The jingle was turned into a march that was played on virtually every playing field in the U.S.!
The Army’s recruiting slogan from 1950-1971, “Look Sharp, Be Sharp, Go Army!” is almost certainly derived from the Gillette slogan.
