"Privilege" vs. "right" sounds like an "either or" fallacy, Logan; it's not something that applies here. We must not argue against accepting transgender service members. Many of the comments in this thread are inappropriate and not welcoming. I applaud the end of a most shameful and baseless discriminatory practice. I now proudly serve with transgender and cisgender service members, and I will adroitly ensure that all service members are treated with dignity and empowered to serve their country to the best of their ability.

There was a tranny in my old unit who used the female PT scoring standards while taking testosterone thus receiving a 300+ pt score resulting in an E-5 promotion ahead of peers who turned out to be a timid and unassertive leader. But you know what? Being against that would make me a racist white patriarchial male with white privilege

I have no issue with transgenders serving in the military ... provided they complete their gender transformation outside of the military and not at the taxpayers' expense ... then meet the physical and mental standards of their current gender when they enter service. What I object to is the transformation occurring on active duty on the taxpayers' dime.
