One of my pastors was Marine at the Battle of Hue. He was wounded three times in one day before being evacuated. He is in a fairly well know picture of the battle after he was wounded the first time.

Bowden's book is an excellent description of the battle for Hue and the determination, courage, and bravery of the marines, army and others involved. He also points out some of the failed decisions from above by those sitting comfortably away from the battle (no areial bombing of the city lest we destroy/damage historic buildings). I recommend reading the book.
