These cases are terribly difficult to judge and I know that as a Soldier, I have been on numerous shoot/don't shoot situations and you have to do your best.
The key to this situation was that the call was regarding a man with a gun, and the officer believed the suspect was reaching for a gun.
When you get it wrong, it is heart breaking.

Of course we all know there is a tremendous difference between soldiering and police work. Reaching for and using a firearm is the last thing a police officer should be doing. I share this with a friend of mine who is a serving police officer in California and he was appalled at the way the call was handled, and equally appalled by the acquittal of the illegal alien that killed a woman in San Fran in 2015.

BLM has served its primary function in creating anew us or them mentality with our police. Coupled with extensive training in Israeli police methods, ie subjugating a hostile population, we are in for a very rough time.

Why did the guy reach and not follow instructions. Even though it sounded like the one giving commands was an asshole, he gave clear concise commands that were not followed and which resulted in actions that we saw.

The cop, after two years on the job, was fired for poor performance. After watching the video, I agree, he handled that situation extremely poorly and in my opinion is culpable in the death of Shaver. It appears that Mesa PD examined the video and saw the same thing. At a minimum, the former officer should have been found guilty of manslaughter.

I wonder, where are the countrywide protests and mass rioting. <--- rhetorical

I was very upset by the jury's decision to acquit. Coupled with the recent decision in San Francisco it essentially means citizens have no protection at all except that we are willing to do ourselves. This Soldier / cop worship routine has gone way overboard. We are human, make mistakes and should be held accountable for them.

Yeah, isn't it funny that white people don't riot and burn sh*t down?
