All this verdict did was show our system worked, once again. The prosecution failed to prove guilt. That is the end of it.
As to "sanctuary cities" aren't you conservatives always calling for the federal government to stay out of local affairs?

Only on some issues. Strange how folks can move from constitutionalists to federalists freely depending on the topic.

Although a good idea in the minds of many, this proposed law, like the one in TX will go nowhere fast, imho. Kinda like trying to ban guns everytime there is a mass shooting in a church or school or in the street. Many people feel that the verdict in the trial was correct if not 'fair'. The jury had the courage to rise above the political muck and render a verdict based on facts, which is what our justice system is based on.

Are cities actively sheltering illegal immigrants, like helping them evade ICE? Or are they just not using local taxpayer dollars to enforce a federal mandate because they believe what their voters want is more important? If they're preventing arrest and deportation they're compliant in a crime, but I feel sanctuary city more often than not simply means "our local police wont kick down your door."
The president cant dictate or mandate what the states do with their resources or manpower, that was a rather large knock against Obama if you'll remember. If the federal government can get cooperation great! If not, the fed failed at keeping them out so at the end of the day its on them to arrest and deport them.

Once upon a time presidents represented the whole of the people and not just one party, which made that cooperation easier. Also there was never a time when politicians weren't whores.
