I once was supposed to do a volunteer event cleaning a Liberty ship in Baltimore, getting it ready for the big D-day re-enactment. Instead I spent the whole day talking to a MM from WWII. His stories and humility were awesome, and something I will always remember. The funniest thing he told me was that they would get pissed off when the Japanese sunk their ships. I said that was understandable, and he said "No, son, you don't understand... We didn't get paid if we weren't on a ship!" So, their pay stopped after a sinking... Amazing service! Thanks for the reminder!

Cynthia Croft The Glass Mountains are nearer Brisbane than you? In 1994, we overnited in a B n B operated by a retired MM Captain in that area. He was not well. When we awakened in the AM; different people, (family friends), were preparing breaky for us. His wife had called the Paramedics and he had been taken to the hospital!

Cynthia Croft In Calendar, (sp), as we exited a McDonalds, a Euc tree was filled with chattering birds. We were given to understand they had eaten fermented berries and were drunk!
