This reminds me of a movie I saw many years ago where some Hollywood types were taking 3d scans/images of young ladies and then using those scans in what would basically be animated movies.
I could see this being a big boon to Hollywood and the movie industry in general. If you look at the amount of special effects that are thrown into a movie production why not make the entire film on a computer. Some good computer geeks and a director and you have a box office hit with a huge reduction in cost.

More indie films coming, possibly, as there are open source software and models to do this - Blender and Source Film Maker being two.

SGT (Join to see) - I can see this being a big change in movies. Some of the graphics I have seen it is hard to tell that it is computer generated.
