A strange movie saved by the fact that the special effects were still new and magical to us. Now they've become commonplace and we expect more story. Sadly, Star Wars never kept up.

I was in army training in July and I missed this movie because I wanted to take the kids to the best theater and see it just like my mother took me to the Hollywood Cinerama Dome to see it when it came out in 1977. Maybe I can see on Netflix Canada so my kids can enjoy it. Recently, my wife showed them the movie E.T. and they thought it was real cute.

CPT Jack Durish - I have seen parts of Dune but I never saw the whole thing I'll have to check out this version. The new Star Wars is an improvement. Rogue one I actually liked because it was so military.

I was watching it thinking it was going to be a serious video ending they started playing Axel F from 1984 and 10th playing a riff from Linkin Park which pissed off the aliens and cause them to leave. LOL

It sucks because I wanted to see the 40th anniversary at the theater but it's not here in Edmonton and it's not on Netflix. I'll have to wait until it's on you Youtube or Netflix
