Burlap sacks for everyone, assuming there is nothing upsetting to some oppressed group somewhere with burlap.
Halloween is actually about the only day of the year in a given neighborhood where many neighbors get out, walk around say hello to each other, perhaps strike up a quick conversation, an introduction etc.
Setting aside some of the background for Halloween, Halloween itself, it is actually a nice thing to see in your neighborhood. My kids are grown but I have grandkids in prime trick or treat age. We don't pay a single second of attention to any rules for costumes. My granddaughter gets to be what ever she likes, within reason. Last year Spiderman, this year Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. The grandson is too young to care what he is dressed as but this year he is the lion to match up with the Dorothy his sister is going as.
So I guess we are making a mistake according to the social justice warriors who no one should listen to, ever.
