Bergdahl Judge Will Issue Ruling On Whether To Dismiss Case Over Trump

Trump made his initial comments while he was a private citizen, not even a politician. Does anyone really expect he would have changed his opinion just because he was elected President. A bell once rung cannot be unrung. The question posed by the reporter was like being asked the proverbial "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" There is no answer or non-answer that cannot be criticized. As President, he did not openly express a position on Bergdahl's guilt or innocence. Bergdahl confessed! What else needs to be said? So Trump doesn't like him; is that an excuse for pampering a traitor?

Well the judge gave Bergdahl the chance to withdraw the guilty plea. He declined to do so. As well Trump's comment were made before he became President - so how could he unlawfully be using his influence. All they have is "I shouldn't comment on that, but I think everyone knows what I think on Bowe Bergdahl."

This is garbage. He pleaded guilty to the charges. There might have been a case that a jury could have been influenced by command comments. The judge should be able to met out an appropriate punishment regardless of comments made by anyone.
