What they aren't telling us is that these shortages and parts issues are a result of the on again and off again budget woes for the plane. Deja Vu all over again. This same thing happened with the B1. Congress put so many restrictions on the build like that a part on that plane had to be manufactured in every state...if it wasn't they stopped funding so we had planes on the ramp without the logistical tail to take care of them for many years. If congress would approve the program in the beginning and let it run with auditing and oversight reporting from the services it would streamline the acquisition process and save money versus them getting into the knickers of the program and trying to steer it.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth not only that, but they wanted it to be a swiss army knife in the sky. I mean, it was like they were trying to see how many toys they could stuff into it, and then were dumbfounded when it wouldn't work.
