My favorite line: "...So you’re very Pro-Gun, you just believe that only the government should be allowed to have guns. There is no such thing as gun control. There is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political elite and their minions.”

as a cripple if I'm out and about I'm a easy target. When armed the target bites back

SGT (Join to see) My wife is against the existence of guns. She is not naive enough to think that they are going away, but she detests them. I love guns. I enjoy shooting them. I find it relaxing and challenging. No matter how good I think I am getting, I know there are those out there better at it than I am, so I push to become better. We get along because I don't push my guns at her, and she doesn't tell me she doesn't want them in the house. It is a compromise. I say this because the article alludes, but doesn't say outright, that when the government has all control, the people have no rights.
I look at Amendment 1 and 2 as highly inter related. One is the brain, two is the muscle. In the first amendment we are guaranteed the right to free speech, free press, free religious practice, free assembly, and to question the government. It is a great freedom to have, but meaningless if the government has the means to ignore the rights of the people. The second amendment is there to give real weight to the first amendment. The government cannot ignore the rights of the people when the people have the means to stand up for themselves. Without one two is meaningless. Without two, one is easily ignored by those in power.
I disagree that it is not mentioned. The problem with mentioning it is that people have a tendency to react like they have just met the unabomber. People presume that you are some anti government radical. It is not anti government. It is pro constitution. Pro America.
