Sgt Wayne Wood Technology should be a tool. It should be used to make life simpler, it should not be used to replace life.

AI has come a long way, but being able to play games is still a long way from trusting it to operate automobiles, trucks and airplanes hands off. Is that coming? Sure, but still a long ways off.

Even with a human in the mix the machines are less likely to make a mistake be distracted or drunk

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Sorry I just now got to this Colonel. Just now saw it. I have to disagree, though: even in a human/AI mix, those AI's are going to respond to human idiocy LONG before even the human's nerve impulses to try to correct will fire. Computer chips operate at the speed of light, minus resistance.

I agree and as I said it's coming. But even though computer chips operate at speed of light the human idiocy you refer to has won every time so far when there has been AI and humans in the same environment. Kind of like I always said when I was flying, things great as long as the magic was working.

Exactly, if EVERYTHING operated on AI! But reality for years to come is that there will be human/AI mix. People driving those $1000.00 cars won't have AI and will continue to do things that AI not prepared for.
