Let's examine the headline:
_I am offended by the word "school," it implies that the students are uneducated.
_I am offended by the word "drop," it marginalizes the grip disadvantaged.
_I am offended by indigenous American aboriginal people's cultural mis-appropriation of a word, "chief" which has etymological origins in Latin, most notably showing up in the French word "Chef" and the Spanish word "Jefe."
_I am offended by the word "job," because it implies toil and dreariness. That makes me sad. I need a safe space.
_I am offended by the word "titles." because the first three letters are a subliminal message to distract males with sexual musings.
_I am offended by the word "offending," because it is offensive. Is my safe space ready yet!?!?
_I am offended by the phrase "indigenous people" because it is a tool of old white Republican males, to mask the cultural identities of the indigenous aboriginal tribes of North America, that should always be listed by name, unless you are as sensitive as me.
If you do not find this funny, you are not welcome in my safe space and I will NOT share my coloring books and crayons with you.

"Chief" has been used as a pejorative, but note that the Indigenous community did not ask to have the titles altered - the dumb asses at the school board did it all by themselves.

Chief IS NOT a term exclusive to Native Americans or First People of Canada. I defend Indians at every opportunity that is presented to me. But this was a liberal knee jerk response stemming from the pathetic non-leadership of our premier, Just In True Dope!!!

In Canada, if you call an indigenous person an Indian it is tantamount to calling them the n-word in comparison. My wife who is indigenous, laughed when she saw Indian Hill Boulevard in Southern California and took a picture of that and send it to her friends on Facebook in Alberta. Yet if you go to a pow wow, you will see the chief say to his constituents "how are you Indians doing?"

LTC (Join to see) - Once again, you two obviously run in different circles than I did and still do. I use the term, RCMP members use the term, members of the First People with whom I have worked and played or simply encountered in our police-related or provincial gov't-related contacts have used the term. Not once was it made known to me that anyone had been bothered by the use of that term. What they may have harboured inside, I don't know, but it never adversely affected our professional or personal relationships. But we do have a very large country, so I'll admit attitudes can and do certainly vary.
