Kind of a hearsay type of article. I am not saying that Facebook does not engage in large amounts of psychological research and easily questioned as illegal human experimentation.
You can see a bit of that questionably legal human experimentation just by looking at its third gender options.

I have done Facebook ad targeting for clients before. It really is surprising how you can target people. You can't use people's names, but with enough social data you can definitely target a group that they are in...

The VA and I believe DOD allows researchers to use their patient records for research.
I believe I can make a good argument that they are using the excuse they can use your as long as they remove personally identifying information to hide illegal human experimentation.
