American Identity politics is destroying our society; from Democrats' racism is an issue to Republicans' White America is a victim of resentment by minorities, finding a leader that will run on a platform of we're all Americans with common identity is becoming much harder. American Nationalism doesn't exist in a country when everyone focuses on race, religion, and ethnicity.

For months, the DNC has resisted the notion that they and their brand as well as Obama's policies were soundly rejected in 2016. They continued to convince themselves that their philosophy was shared by a majority of the country. After all, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. Accordingly, the DNC believes that they have an electoral majority comprised of minorities and single women that will yield victory in 2018 and 2020. Nonetheless, the reality is that Obama entered office in 2009 with his party in control of 62 of 99 state legislative chambers. When he left office in January 2017, Republicans controlled over two-thirds of America’s legislative chambers. The GOP now has VETO-PROOF majorities in 17 states compared to the Democrats’ 3. In 2009, Democrats had 31 Governorship's. Today, the GOP has 33. In 25 states, Republicans have total control of EVERY level of government, and, in three more states, the GOP can override the Democratic governor’s veto. At the Federal level, Democrats lost a net total of 61 seats in the House of Representatives over the course of eight years and ten seats in the Senate. Furthermore, the 2016 Election data revealed that Clinton’s much heralded popular 2.86 million vote victory over Trump (48.2% to 46.1%) was due almost entirely to a 4.27 million vote margin of victory in California; which she carried by more than a 30-point margin (61.7% to 31.6%). Nevertheless, excluding California, Trump outdistanced Hillary in the rest of the country by 1.41 million votes, 47.8% to 46.6%. Broken down at the local level Trump won 2,623 Counties while Clinton won 489. Of the nearly 700 counties that twice sent Obama to the White House, Trump flipped 194 of 207 counties that voted for Obama either in 2008 or 2012. By contrast, of those 2,200 counties that never supported Obama, Clinton was only able to win six. She won only 20 states (plus DC). Contrast that to Trump, who won 30 states and won 7 of the 10 largest states. Given the above it is painfully evident that the DNC currently has only a minuscule power base in the middle of the country from which to build in order to capture the House and the Senate in 2018 and the Presidency in 2010. Therefore, as the evidence suggest, Clinton’s and by extension the DNC, support remains geographically narrow. The above facts are irrefutable. The DNC has been reluctant to internalize them and to learn from their 2016 failure in "...flyover country...". That unabashed arrogance and corporate narcissism will be their undoing. Because failure to accede to the truth surrounding the causative aspects of a failure will always result in repetition of a that same failure. That, unfortunately, is real life.

Democrats are not helped by their sycophants in the media. The more they try to help push a narrative, the more outspoken they are in their condemnation of all things Republican in general and Trump in particular, the more they drive a wedge between the left and the rest of the country.

SSgt Christopher Brose - the more the DNC whines, the more support their opposition receives.

LTC Orlando Illi - Yup.

It reminds me of Hollywood in the 60's, when they would make movies and TV programs with no fact-checking whatsoever. My favorite example is Star Trek's Chekov, a character with a Russian background who had trouble saying words with the letter V so he would substitute the letter W. What makes that funny is that the Russian language has a V but does not have a W. So the script was written and executed by people who had no clue what the reality was, and after some time went by, they were so invested in the story the way it was that they couldn't change it.

SSgt Christopher Brose - when you advocate class warfare and identity politics you alienate a large portion of the population. 2018 and 2020 will be won at the local level. The Democrats don't have a message that resonates in vast sections of the United States. They cannot fathom why 62,000,000 people will not easily forgive being rerfferd to as racist bigots by Clinton and the current DNC Chairman. The best advertisement that the Republicans have are Clinton's whinning and bitching tour, the lunatic rantings of Maxine Waters and the demonization of anyone who opposes illegal immigration.
