Oh my, Seawolf spent 3 years in the yards about 10 years after her commissioning. What a surprise. Look most ships have a regular overhaul cycle and this really does not surprise me a whole lot and should not surprise anyone who knows much about ships in general or submarines to be specific. Ships need periodic repairs, but that does not sell articles.
A submarine transited from Bremerton, WA to Norway? What a shock! Oh, wait, Nuclear subs have been doing this since Nautalus. What is the secret here? I'm not sure if there really is one. Yes Bubbleheads transit the seas under the Ice and practice their warfighting skills. Surface ships transit from Norfolk to San Juan or Gebralter and practice their warfighting skills.
A new type of under ice gear was tested and fitted to Seawolf? I sure hope so. We develop and use the latest gear all the time. Of course the Navy does not want to discusse these developments, we hate to give away the letest developments!
Lastly, the Russians HATE our abilities? Well, I am not so sure about that since they have some of the same abilitires as us. Secretly our Navies may admire the professionalism on both sides, but we do nto really mix and mingle very much so there is neither hate nor love. That is for the political leaders - we follow orders.
