RP Members and Connections Victory for Veterans Foundation is looking for Volunteer Board Members to fill some vacancies, specifically the Board Member/Tresusuer Position is needing filled immediately. This a 2-year part-itme position, work from home, roughly (5) hours a week initially, volunteer position that could lead to full-time work in the future.
The main duties of a treasurer are to oversee the financial administration of the organization, review procedures and financial reporting, advise the board on financial strategy, and advise on fundraising.
Anyone taking on the role of treasurer in a not-for-profit organization must have - or needs to learn - a basic understanding of accounting and a working knowledge of the laws governing the organization's operation. This may sound daunting, but most accounting is commonsense once you understand the basics - it is about money coming in, and money going out.
Being treasurer of a veterans organization is a great honor, and a great responsibility. An active and alert treasurer can ensure that Victory for Veterans Foundation is able to extend its activities, resulting in greater benefits to the wider veteran population. It's a big job - while you may be able to delegate some duties to staff and volunteers, you can't delegate the responsibility.

Colonel I have an Associate degree in accounting and have served as chair of the Stewardship committee for my Presbytery. I will prayerfully consider this and if I fill that the Lord is leading me in that direction I will consider applying. Thanks for the information.
