SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint More & more of these articles are starting to lean towards pre-preemptive strikes. It's almost a no-win situation. We end a tyrannical regime, but have a huge humanitarian crisis on our hands due to the fact that the populace has lost the ability to be self-reliant.

Not attacking gives the nK a large advantage when they attack.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - Which is why I think we've ramped up our target practice for incoming missiles.

The Navy is talking about temporarily putting a second carrier in Japan so it can better maintain a consistent presence in the area not definite yet it's one of the options on the table.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - Not attacking avoids the deaths of hundreds of thousand or millions of SOUTH Koreans balanced against a possible attack

Trump has a call with Xi today. I think we know what they'll be talking about, and if we're cleared hot it may be time for some anti-missile target practice. If Fatty wants to waste cash on target drones while his people go hungry that will eventually have a cost for him domestically. Meanwhile it buys us all some breathing room. Diplomacy sometimes works better when you've used your big stick first. Not that we need China's permission to act, but considering the consequences of a full-scale nuke shootout it doesn't hurt to check that box first. We spend too much cash on defense to be held captive by a third rate power like NK. Why waste our money on target drones when Fatty can provide them for free? It means we have to have target packages confirmed and counter-batteries fully prepped, because there's no telling how he will respond. If he goes with a multiple launch and we get kills on them all then he's out of Schlitz. All he has left then is an actual attack and then it's game on for us and game over for him. There will be casualties but it's better they are there than on our soil.

You can live though blackmail and proliferation you can not live though being flash cooked to ash. Agile you were in did you ever perhaps visit Hiroshima or Nagasaki?
