Interesting read, diplomacy first, then bomb them into oblivion second.

SSgt (Join to see) No matter how devastating an attack would be, some artillery shells and missiles are bound to reach their targets. Will South Korea and Japan be willing to accept the damage and loss of life that is sure to happen?

PO2 Robert Nichols If it means deleting a regime willing to lob a nuke or hydrogen bomb at whomever he wants, most likely.

SSgt (Join to see) Do we sink to their level? If DPRK decides to attack a civilian population rather than striking at South Korean or U.S. Military Assets, do we respond in kind? The alternative is continuing to strike DPRK's military while they continue attacking civilians. The goal from the DPRK side would be to end the South Korean resolve to fight a war. The only way we could do that to North Korea is by attacking their government. From Lil' Kim all the way down. He would need to be targeted in the early portion of any campaign. Being that he has no heir, taking out Lil' Kim and his generals would leave North Korea in a state of chaos. That might be the only way to stop them from targeting civilians. North Korean Civil War would mean North Korea not looking to spread aggression outward. Sadly it means that millions of North Korean civilians would be killed in the process. No matter what military solution is enacted, there will be a high civilian death toll. Diplomacy is definitely a better choice.

PO3 Steven Sherrill first devastating blow - level Pyongyang. If that city is no more, DPRK is dying. Will innocents die? Sadly, yes. But that is the cost of true war. He knows this. He doesn't give 2 rat's asses about his people. If he did, he wouldn't starve them to death or force them into camps that they never come back from.
