Gotta love the media. The Secretary of Defense, a general, a man who has seen battle, and commanded Marines going into battle makes a statement that "We're never out of diplomatic solutions" and they take it as him contradicting the President. Personally I take it as a person who understands exactly what happens, and who is impacted most by war saying diplomacy should always be on the table, even when the bullets have started flying.
