If I have anything that I feel needs to be taken up with a Congressman, I call their office or email them. I don't need to show up anywhere. Thanks internet!

One reason why some representatives have stopped town halls is groups from out of their district have been showing up and disrupting the meetings. If I was an elected official I would not let anyone into my town hall who did not live in the district I represented.

As I said this will backfire. Democrats might like mob rule and intimidating people. However, anarchy does not play well in middle America where they need to convince voters to vote Democrat.
