SSG Diane R. - too right I believe that's what the United States is trying to do trying to find that medium between all.

LTC David Brown - one could argue that the United States, indeed he entire Western system is in fact an oligarchy governed by a deep state. With a birth and growth of ever larger Monopoly we are in fact moving towards nearly all means of services and production into the same hands.
For instance look at the Behemoths that Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook have become.

SSG Diane R. - well the United States does skirt close to the description of an oligarchy a land ruled by the few elite I'd like to think it was meritochirsy style but some do get away with just connections and money alone.

SSG Diane R. - it has always been this way. Amazon is new Sears and Roebuck , Gates are new Vanderbilts. There is always a churning of wealth in America as innovation occurs. . Regulations help stabilize these economically powerful groups and families. Consider Home Depot. One of the founders says they could not make Home Depot today because of regulations. Home Depot created 1000 millionaires. So regulations imped change, innovation and the production of wealth.
