I think he will find the war better to manage if he listens to his advisors in the first place you can't call audible from thousands of miles away. He's only realizing now it's not so easy.

COL Charles Williams - I understand sir but I know of those leaders reputations they have all the experience and even has the unrestricted support of people like ret generals Petraeus, McCrystal, Clarke on the side willing to come in and advise the president all he has to do is ask and I believe they haven t charged anything for it his current leaders are very experienced and some of the most qualified people currently in.

PFC (Join to see) - I was not disagreeing with you. I agree the best COA is let the DOD figure this out in concert with the NSA. My comment was aimed at the POTUS, and when you get in the seat, you find none of your visions, hopes, dreams and campaign promises are easy. Once you get "behind the curtain" things look very different. 1st, I think we need a desired end state for Afghanistan. 2nd, we need an exit strategy, someday unless this will be the next Germany, Japan, Korea? 3rd, I agree, he needs to defer the subject matter experts - His senior military officers.

COL Charles Williams - my concern was his grand big promises like we are going to start winning again like what does that mean win how. He wants all this stuff done but doesn't want to be bothered with the details ok well that's how things get done you want something he needs to learn the issues
