Dem Barbara Lee says hero Gen Kelly is an extremist who will militarize the White House

Actually, it was George Washington who "militarized" the White House. He had no prior experience to guide him (he was the first President), and he used his military experience as a model. He built a staff to whom he could delegate specific functional areas (they're known as the Cabinet with Secretaries rather than staff officers). Of course, the system worked. It's worked for more than 200 years, except when we had a President with no concept of command and control. Harry Truman possibly understood it best when he put a sign on his desk: "The Buck Stops Here". The President can delegate authority but not responsibility. It appears that President Trump understands that. It's obvious that President Obama never did.
