Soldier Stayed in Army Despite Support for Islamic State

I'm going to give a "hot sports opinion" here about the west and our military service. We view military service as a job, or an adventure - perhaps a way of life.
In other cultures, military service is how you protect what's yours or how the law in enforced.
That's quite a difference and why our military will allow someone to stay who publicly voices support and/or approval for ideas and/or governments that are not in line with ours. You can see this trend with communist leaders and revolutionaries as well as Islamic leaders.
