China and WWII’s “Sarajevo” moment

Interesting article. Is really sad while reading a book by General Singlaub, the same general who pissed off President Jimmy Carter when he stood up and lost his career saying that it was wrong for US forces to leave South Korea discuss in his book about how after World War II former five-star general and now Secretary of State George C Marshall did not like General Chiang Kai-shek and let him lose China to the Communists because he wouldn't resupply the trained up national armies that were going to be used to fight the Japanese. Meanwhile, the Russians gave all the captured Japanese equipment artillery and ammunition to the communist to slowly win back China and by 1949 they won. So this issue with China versus the Japanese and atrocities I think it's both a wash now.

If they are going to go that far, they could have gone back to 1931 and the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. The incident described just escalated the rest of it for the Sino-Japanese Theatre.
