The US has no desire to concquer Afghainstan as the other examples tried to do. Our objective is to build a secure and self-sustaining government which will not enable our enemies.

Capt Dwayne Conyers - so true I had a mortar platoon from 2-185 Armour out of San Diego while stationed at dugway Proving Ground during operation Noble Eagle 3 in 2003 and these guys were prior service Marines and about three or four of them had Filipino wives so you are correct.

I can confirm that too. Gen Dunford sat across from us and completely agreed with our assessments and recommendations. We had a path to success and the President decided to instead make good on an empty compain promise which he never fully fullfilled in the end (i.e. why did he bother in the first place?).
