Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on June 2, 2012 former Egyptian president 84-year-old Hosni Mubarak was found guilty of failing to stop the killings of hundreds of anti-government demonstrators during the 2011 popular uprising that forced an end to his nearly 30 years in power.
Of course this is what resulted from the radicalized Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt for a season with the complicity of the US government, most likely.
Fortunately even though Mohamed Morsi was sworn into office as Egypt’s first democratically elected president on June 30, 2012, that victory was short lived.
Hosni Mubarak had ben an honorable an unlike Mohamed Morsi
FYI in November 2104 Hosni Mubarak experienced a reversal of fortune as he was retried on the murder charges related to the deaths of the protesters in 2011. An Egyptian court threw out his earlier conviction. He was also cleared of some corruption charges around this time.
