What he is referring to are the Milankovitch cycles that help regulate the CO2 levels - CO2 along with the subtle temperature changes cause the glaciation periods. As well there are many other inputs that affect the environmental changes - for example solar radiation and plate tectonics. As well there are even far more destructive events that could also occur. One is a gamma ray burst. Astronomers believe that gamma ray bursts might explain some of the mass extinctions that happened on Earth. The most devastating was probably one that occurred 450 million years ago causing the Ordovician–Silurian extinction event. One possible reason why none of this other stuff that effects the environmental changes gets put into the mix it would mean we can't control the environmental changes. Why is that important? If people believe the environment is indeed something we can manage via policy it then becomes a political issue. The democrats have embraced this concept as a group think demographic that can be leveraged via identity politics. Earth is a little over 4.5 billion years old we showed about 200,000 years ago - 0.004% of the Earth's history. Again in the grand scheme of the Universe we are just a transient life form that will have been a flash in the pan - there are 40 billion Earth-sized planets orbiting in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars and red dwarfs in the Milky Way alone yet we think we are special.

He nailed it. Climate change happens regardless of human presence. I agree we need to take care of our planet, but the current climate change scare is to drive an agenda. This is my gut feeling, I am no scientist.

LTC David Brown It is behavior such as you just pointed out that causes my skepticism. The left has enough cows, even though they want to ban them as well. Hahaha.

LTC David Brown - If not responding to requests is inherently indicative of hiding information or being deceptive, does that go equally so on all requests? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/04/05/lawmakers-say-intel-agencies-stonewalling-on-surveillance-probe.html
Lawmakers say intel agencies stonewalling on surveillance probe
Lawmakers probing the surveillance of key officials in the Trump campaign and administration say the intelligence agencies now nominally under the president’s control are stonewalling efforts to get to the bottom of who revealed names and leaked protected information to the press.

Yes indeed! Either our elected officials run the government or the entrenched bureaucracy.

Not only that, but in S. louisiana we have people stripping the environment so much, that that has nothing to do with Carbon taxes. In effect, we need CO2 and it not much in Percentage in parts per million. CO2 is essence a straw dog. The authors as per Al Gore and the wacky Bill Nye. Revelance by dogma, I guess.
