According to the bible Pontius Pilate was the guy who sealed Jesus' fate. Is there any evidence that such a man ever really existed? What are the chances that there would be any proof of the existence of a short term bureaucrat from the fringes of the Roman empire?

Another case of archaeology unearthing artifacts that provide evidence of truth in the historical record of the Bible. While the artifact does not prove the actions of Pilate with regards to the crucifiction of Jesus. It does fix Pilate in the area. And in his position in the roman government of the area.
For myself, no further proof of Pilate was needed. But for those who are more skeptical, this is more proof that biblical history is in fact actual history.

Cpl Joshua Caldwell - and from surviving historian records of the time as well give a higher probability that much of the Bible is true based on historical accounts.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I was just about punches pilot and I didn't say almost all of the Bible I said some. I was not trying to get into a debate. I am not a subject matter expert and I read about this discovery of Pilots name a few months back.

Capt Gregory Prickett - even though I'm Catholic, you know hardcore fun of metal is say that the Earth formed 6000 years ago based on biblical narrative. We know the Earth is billions of years old we know that there are civilizations over 10,000 years old and we know about early man before homosapien starting in Africa.
