That video covered some of my pet peeves. I usually try to hold myself in check and avoid mentioning them for two reasons; to avoid appearing to be a "grammar Nazi", and because it creates a side issue not pertinent to the subject under discussion. I have frequently seen such deflection attempted by people who don't have an answer to a question, or who are incapable of explaining why they hold an opinion they have stated. I don't want to be one of "those guys". I prefer to follow a policy of leading by example.
It is truly painful to see some excellent ideas expressed in a poorly written comment, with all sorts of errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I try to focus on the idea, rather than the clumsy manner in which it was expressed. Sometimes, the writing is so garbled that I am not sure of exactly what the writer was trying to say. In such cases, I state my understanding of what was written and ask if that was the intent of the poster.

It doesn't help that I'm using voice text and it may not convey the correct punctuation.
