Is it time to give Chesty Puller the Medal of Honor?

SGT Aaron Atwood said it very well, Chesty is tough enough. BUT, more important, we have a new gov and we need the gov to focus on the future, and get squared away. DoD has 30 days to get war plan. DoD has been at war without a plan for too long. Let's not have 3 action officers working on Chesty...let's fight the war that most the country does not realize we are fighting. We need to also ensure the enemy knows we are fighting. Chesty would be pissed off with the diversion of attention.

WWCD. What Would Chesty Do? I am not a Chesty expert, but from what I have read he was not about medals. He was about Marines. I am not sure he would want it.

Not a necessary thing to do in my opinion. He already holds ultimate bad@$$ status among Marines. A MoH won't change that for better or worse. I don't know of any other Marine who has five Navy Crosses either not to mention Marines under his leadership have received the MoH (such as John Basilone).
