- Office consumer products and cloud services revenue increased 22% (up 21% in constant currency) and Office 365 consumer subscribers increased to 24.9 million." Office 365 delivers a consistent experience across multiple platforms including Windows, Linux, MAC, iPad, iPhone and Android.

While Microsoft Office was losing some accounts to Google Docs a few years ago, Office 365 has been very successful competing against all alternatives since its release and has been winning more accounts back from Google Docs than it has been losing. A version of Office 365 is being deployed across all of DoD and the Windows 10 deployments are being accelerated in part because of Win 10's enhanced cyber-security capabilities. The subscription model is here to stay and is going to be applied to all sorts of products and services across many different industries - even automobiles in the future.
Contrary to the negative theme of Slashdot article, it seems Wall Street analysts are happy with what they see now and projected for the future - Microsoft stock price is at an all-time high.
