Today in History: January 11

1. 1879: Zulu War against British colonial rule in South Africa begins.
2. 1941: an enormous crater was created when a German bomb fell on Bank underground station [Tube] in London on the 11th January 1941. My parents were in London as teenagers, my mother was evacuated to Hatchlands, East Clandon while my father stayed in the city during the Blitz.
