I got to scratch my head at this. Why would you make it a National Park instead of making it Tribal Land if your intent was to preserve it for Native Americans. Seems to me Obama was fairly stupid here and sowed the seeds for future conflict over Land use vs. if he would have just stayed out of it.

There are 5 tribes involved in the protection of this land, so which tribe would be given the land as part of their reservation? Also, reservation land can sometimes be exploited, so simply making it part of a reservation would not guarantee protection.
I think this was a good move and hope Trump does not repeal it, though I would not be surprised if he does. After all, oil and mining interest are involved.

MSG Stan Hutchison - You can put the land in a trust shared by several tribes but I agree not all tribes take care of their land or have the money to.
