Thanks for the photo albums. Almost make me wish I were young again, but then I take a nap and get over it

After almost a decade after being retired my Mind still thinks I can do the stuff I did over a 25 year career, but my body says, oh no you don't.
I now really know why The Boss had the song 'Glory Days'.
I see young kids these days doing stuff and think, I could have done that!

CPT Jack Durish - This links to another article on RP about meds and mass shootings. I'm on a very good cocktail of meds, but it took awhile to get here.
People tell me all the time when they hear what I'm on, you need to get off all that stuff. "There are all the reports of all different bad things that happen."
Well, I understand there are issues, but I have a very good home caregiver, my wife. She tracks my moods and meds, I won't become a Texas tower shooter.
I'm am/was an adult alcoholic, (1-2 drinks per year now) of alcoholic parents, grandparents, etc. I'm also ADD, but wasn't formally diagnosed until 2009, but have known all my life.
Too many have meds as baby sitters now.
So yeah, I still think I can do all the fun stuff, but know I can't even on some good meds.
A little off topic, but to me they are tied together.

As tough a year as it was for the active US Army, it was probably harder for the Army Reserve and Army National Guard. Those agencies were built to be a strategic reserve force and now have done everything the active force has done, only on a part-time basis, for 15 years.

got that right Colonel, since the drawdown aka "Peace Dividend" by Pres GHW Bush they've been very busy, units of both AR and NG from small towns all over US have been in the thick of it, that's what happens when you shrink total force from 2.1 to 1.4 million, one man out of three went home, I have both types all around me and they've been in and out of all Theaters since the beginning, not sure the public other than their family and friends realize that they've not been weekend warriors for well over 20 years - since post Desert Storm
