They should be shocked by what their son did not by what Trump said. The attacker was self proclaimed ISIS member, ISIS took credit, so Trump statement was true. Ever hear that the truth hurts. No the family should no face any repercussions unless it is proven they had knowledge or helped. Seems that since they got a lawyer, they are already thinking lawsuit.

Just me, but if the guy committing an attack claims allegiance to a terrorist organization prior to the attack then isn't that pretty strong evidence that the attacker was motivated by the terrorist outfit he claimed allegiance to. I imagine the families of, and the people attacked were pretty shocked when they were run down and stabbed. Pretty sure no one wants to see their son behave that way.
As far as weather someone belongs here or not depends entirely on if they passed the screening for entry and entered through legal means.
I'd be interested in what level of scrutiny is now involved with the screening for refugees and how identities are verified. I remember when the folks from Bosnia came over and some of the interesting folks that were comingled with the hard working legitimate people in that group.
