General: Army struggles to meet goal of 80,000 recruits

Considering the army shows a lot of good, experienced soldiers to the door that would reduce the need to recruit so many, I have no sympathy. It's long been a bad business practice to hurredly push people out when we don't need them at that one short moment then say in the same breath "we're short of our recruiting goals". Maybe they should look at ones that are willing and able that have already been trained rather than the shiny new you every time. You might just show your people where your loyalties lie and that you care.

The great social experiment (U.S. Military) is just that, has turned into a place that begins to show the same social issues as the non-military world. Many I assume join the military to escape this very environment, but, find themselves in a world where they have no voice to dissent when again surrounded by the same attitudes. (I am retired, my spouse is active, so I still hear many things no longer being a part of active duty). The military is what it is for a reason, strict, conformance orientated, standardized and it instills the soldier/sailor the "we" attitude, not the "me" attitude. (Those of us that remember boot camp many, many years ago?) This is opposite of the attitude of today's generations. We all see it, we all know it, we all at times deny it, but it is there and it is obvious. We see patriotism shaming, we see others concerned with whats in it for me, not how what I do can effect those around me. This is all my opinion, not fact based comments, btw.
