He should at least listen to a large percentage of them to get a firm idea of every situation.

SGT (Join to see) I really don't trust any of the news media sources anymore. I can;t believe that anyone wouldn't care about an intelligence briefing. Its part of the job! I could see him being distracted during a briefing with all the crap going on, but I can't see any future President Elect not interested! If it is indeed true then Trump needs to get his act together! Period!

I agree, and he has his staff doing their job. Are not leaders supposed to delegate.

There are many styles of leadership. If he has confidence in his theater commanders, and a hands off approach, he may tell the theater commanders what he wants the end results to look like and expect them to do complete staff action based on up to date intel reports. They would then only report to him if they felt they had insufficient assets, or if they felt there was some doubt that they could achieve the commander's intent.
If I am not mistaken, one of the criticisms of the current administration is that the White House situation room is checking in theater slit trenches to ensure they are within regs, conducting ammo counts and short arm inspections, and checking sight picture and sight alignment before the private is allowed to pull the trigger.
At the POTUS level it isn't about fighting the battle it is making sure that the beans, bullets, and band-aids are where they need to be.
How many of us were ever glad when the CO start issuing orders in our tactical sandbox?
