Was there on a HA/CA deployment a year after they took over, and worked with State department as that is what we do when we do those missions, and the embassy staff including the ambassador were worried about them being the ruling party, We planed and conducted Medical Assistance Projects (MEDCAP) and Engineering Assistance Projects (ENGCAPS) This is what is called the Harts and Mind on the ground stuff we are conducting all over the world today. The mission was in Pro American area Puerto Cabezas that was poor and devastated because they supported us when COL North was doing his stuff in the 80's. I loved doing work there and learned a lot about the Sandinista's. The people supported us in that area and when we were in Managua it was way different, glade I had a side arm with me all the time.

PO1 Nagel what was it like when you were on ground, did you like the embassy it was small, so I thought. Definitely a third world and very dangerous, and this was 2008, so I can only imagine when you were boots on ground.
