Okay, I admit that I am a bit underwhelmed (okay, a lot underwhelmed) by economists. They are like the weathermen I used to listen to back in the 1950's. They had a real talent for sounding authoritative in making predictions and then explaining why their predictions failed to materialize. (I even remember one frustrated weatherman in Baltimore renting a small airplane and dumping cornflakes all over the city to simulate the snow he had predicted for the umpteenth time and failed to occur) Apparently, weathermen are smarter than economists. They not only improved their tools and techniques, but also learned to condition their predictions with percentages (as in a 50% chance of rain tomorrow). Thus, they're correct more often and have a built in excuse for when they're wrong. Economists continue the march, making bad predictions and blustering excuses when proven wrong (which is more often than not)

SSG (Join to see) - Good question. How about this situation: Let's say you murder someone and get away with it. Are you or are you not a criminal? Of course, you're a criminal, an unindicted criminal. Now, I've read the law and reviewed the evidence: Hillary's own statements as well as the FBI Director's review of the evidence against her. Hillary committed criminal acts. She should be indicted, but political considerations have shielded her. Notice, I never said anywhere that she's guilty. "Guilty" is a verdict rendered by a jury of peers after reviewing evidence lawfully presented at trial. "Guilt" does not make a criminal. It is simply the culmination of a process guided by the Rule of Law.

CPT Jack Durish - She hasn't been found guilty of the commission of any crime. I break the law all the time, I usually drive 5 mph over the speed limit, and sometimes I forget to use my blinkers. I get away with it because for the most part the cops don't really care. If some guy driving an old jalopy with temp tags went driving past an officer driving 50 in a 45, there is a good chance the officer would actually pull him over. The same goes for that email scandal, if you or I did half that stuff, we'd be in deep trouble. Powerful politicians, generals, or even business people at certain levels can get away with a lot that we can not. Our system of justice isn't consistent or just, if Clinton is a criminal for taking advantage of that system... almost all of us are criminals to a lesser degree.

SSG (Join to see) - You have reduced your argument to the point of absurdity when you compare violating the speed limit to felonious conduct and abuse of power. I would love to speak more of this but you have shown me the futility of even trying. Go forth and enjoy your bliss. I'm sorry that I can't help

CPT Jack Durish - I'm sorry you couldn't see past the triviality of speeding to the matter of the privilege some within our society enjoy.

None of their statements concerned economics... that makes them less than useless
