CAREER ADVISOR, MILITARY AFFIL'D STUDENT OUTREACH

Here is an excellent opportunity to work with Veteran's who are students attending the University of Iowa in their career pursuits!
We are seeking a full-time career advisor to provide comprehensive individual and group career advising primarily to military affiliated students.
Education Required:
A Master’s degree in Student Development, Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in higher education, industry, government or military providing a comparable level of expertise
Experience Required:
Experience (typically 1-3 years) in career/educational counseling.
Demonstrates working proficiency and knowledge in the ability to provide career advice, coaching, and career development counseling to veterans/students.
Demonstrates working proficiency in communication techniques (including excellent written and verbal communication skills) and relationship building skills that enables the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner at an extensive proficiency level.
Demonstrates a working proficiency in the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
Demonstrates working proficiency and knowledge in the ability to manage educational/instructional programs and facilitation.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in a college career services office or human resources/recruiting role.
Demonstrates working proficiency in outreach and/or recruiting to a specified audience or group.
Experience working with veterans/students or those navigating career changes.
