Is the reading comprehension level so low in this thread that no one really understood he was talking about mental scar tissue? He said he was still haunted by the thought that he perhaps could have done more as governor that might have helped prevent such a shooting. I would think that if there was any group that would understand that violent events can leave doubts and mental scars it would be this forum.

Or do you go into the PTSD threads and ridicule those people who talk about having lasting scars that aren't physical? Or maybe it's just that no one actually read the article to see what he said.

LTC (Join to see) I, for one, was mocking Kaine's 'scar tissue' comment which I perceive to be an insult to the real genuine victims of this massacre. His faux anguish and self-absorbed second-guessing was an obvious attempt to manipulate the viewing audience into believing that he, too, is a victim and therefore deserving of our sympathies and, of course, votes, IMHO.

As Governor he could have fought to ensure the FBI was inform when someone is involuntarily committed like the VA Tech shooter. Being the shooter was a juvenile when it happened, the records were sealed to protect the Shooter's future and he was able to buy the handguns he used.

He's a drama queen. The people who have legitimate "mental scars" are the people that were there, that knew the people that died, or spent time wondering if one of their loved one at VA Tech was dead or wounded. The rest of us can sympathize, but the next day we went to work, or school; ran errands, and entertained ourselves. Our lives went on unchanged. Years after the fact, we do not have all that pain come flooding back as if it was happening right now.

When I was in 7th grade, my friend killed himself with a shot gun. I was sickened on the next school day when so many people who didn't have the time of day for Brian when he was alive, walked around wailing in their false grief. I have zero tolerance for this "stolen grief". It a shameless grab at emotion for a political purpose.

Maj John Bell - Mike. Drop. Boom! "Loosely defined, the manipulator plays on your good intentions, insecurities, vulnerabilities and weaknesses in order to get what they want [power through votes]. This could be someone you trust or even love, and they are often void of any conscientious considerations, will prey on these weaknesses in order to compel you to do something in their favor. While all human beings are manipulative to some degree, the emotional manipulator is habitually manipulative and will employ this form of psychological control consistently."
