My wife and I had the pleasure of doing a bike tour of the KATY Trail from Clinton to St Charles, Missouri several years ago.
We have done several bicycle tours over the years and this was no doubt up there as one of our favorites.
Traveling adjacent to the Missouri River and following the Louis and Clark Trail made for a beautiful and historic experience.
The trail was in excellent condition and was like riding on a private road. Even after a night of heavy rain the trail was in excellent shape.
Bathrooms were spread out at convenient intervals. Going west to east we had mostly a trailing wind and a slight downgrade following along the river.
Riding Rail Trails is my wife's favorite way to ride as we have have had a number of bad road experiences over the years and she no longer feels safe riding on the roads. So having a linear trail of that length makes this an outstanding attraction.
A real jewel for the state of Missouri.
