Earth Overshoot Day

This should also be posted to Humor. Things like this crack me up. Humanity is just as much a part of the biosphere as every plant, animal, and insect. We feed the earth as well as feed upon it. When things get out of balance, the biosphere has natural mechanisms for restoring it. Yes, we should make an effort to be good stewards of our portion of the biosphere, but always remember that not even our magnificent brains are up to the task of figuring out what is good behavior and what is not. Unintended consequences have a nasty habit of reminding us of our shortcomings.
