Will Rio enjoy the same economic boost of previous Olympic host cities?

Granted, this author beat me to it, however he shared my same train of thought. Considering the challenges that Brazil has faced in recent years, I wondered if Rio was selected as the host nation in order to provide an injection of economic growth into the country in order to support recovery and economic growth based on previous financial and economic struggles.
