Yeah but Netflix also authorizes up to 4 (I think) profiles per account, so obviously some password sharing is going to take place.

I knew none of that. It also makes me wonder why people talk about sharing Netflix passwords. Is the profile feature new ?

As far as I know it's been a feature for a while, along with being able to have Netflix on up to 4 devices.
Take my Netflix account for example. I pay for it but it's my wife's name on the account. She has Netflix on her phone and laptop, and I have it on my phone and laptop. We both sign in with the same account, but she has her profile and I have my own. It gets kind of confusing, LOL...
