Never respond in anger, either verbally or via email. Never. One of my closest friends firmly believes in writing a draft email and sitting on it for however long is necessary until the response is un-emotional.

Yes Ma'am but unfortunately having a discussion about No Fly No Buy with gun control has some here gong ballistic.
If you favor this legislation.it sets them off & I can't see taking this so seriously. Causing one gun owner to have a meltdown on RP is rather sad

Don't focus so much on the words...but look at the energy behind the words. Try to see the truth in what is being said. And also consider the person and the position they hold. Some people don't know they are being harsh or tough...it's business as usual. As leaders we sometimes have to be harsh....the first time...to set the tone. Nice don't get work done or mission accomplished. I do believe that at time you cannot talk to one person as you would another. At times you don't have the luxury of taking the time to sweet talk a person into doing a good job. Lastly....we have to sometimes have tough skin and stop being a tenderfoot boy scout.

How about responding to direct, harsh criticism here on RP here's one of many I endured about a week ago
this one is rather tame compared to his others:
CPO Frank Coluccio- "Too afraid to answer the question?
Here's another one that you might be able to wrap your pea brain around and answer...
Do you want "military weapons" banned, or military LOOKING weapons banned.
Because, if you don't know (which wouldn't surprise me), the M4, M4A1 (along with EVERY ASSAULT RIFLE IN THE WORLD) ARE ALREADY BANNED from purchase in the US unless you are in possession of a Class III Firearm License.
Other wise you are just plain afraid (which wouldn't surprise me either) of weapons because they may "look" like a military style weapon.
But lets see your knowledge level, answer the question above:"
_______________________________________________________________________________
And I said basically I have never been comfortable with military semi automatic weapons in the hands of civilians after leaving the military, * seeing first hand what damage they can do. Needless to say my answer was met with much worse direct, harsh criticism by CPO Frank Colluccio
I don't care what he said about me but others were offended by his nonsense on other discussions And later he ran out of down votes and insults when I called him a Troll; he then had a meltdown so he banned me.
But I think now being banned by someone who was just trolling to posts insults and down votes was NOT a bad thing..IMHO

ENS (Join to see)
The person's response and manner in which they did so, is definitely deserving of a thumb-down.

ENS (Join to see) - Which person's response??
Here was my response & I'm paraphrasing :
"I have never been comfortable with military semi automatic weapons in the hands of civilians after leaving the military, * seeing first hand what damage they can do."
